April 14th / Todays post

A 1989 postmodern game, “proposal for a design style” that turned out now, 28 years later, probably more fitted to staying in 1789 and retitled, “potential graphic design for bygone eras” !

Hands up ! Antique mall book covers. “What typography ends up looking like when photographed out in the world,” is an ongoing project, consciously started in 1986, and continuous through film, Polaroid, and digital mediums. Comprising many, many thousands of examples, stacked in boxes, published in books, pasted in albums, and now, stored in multi-megabytes on computers, hard drives, and Clouds.

A sequence of some currently found postcards, the last one shown with both sides.  The back has a very amusingly written, “quite an adventure…”  Also, one wonders, did the addressee eventually give name to the Tim Gearan song, “Fickle Betty,” ?  No dates on any of them, but the period is fairly evident in the images.
